Badaun: Panic spread in Bilsi Nagar on Sunday morning after a block of ice weighing nearly 20 kilograms suddenly fell from the sky onto a brick kiln, narrowly missing workers. The incident occurred around 9 a.m., triggering chaos as labourers ran for safety and residents rushed to the spot.<br /><br />Despite the size and force of the falling ice, all workers escaped unharmed. Police and administrative officials reached the location soon after receiving information.<br /><br />Local resident Somendra Yadav said the ice block landed with a loud impact while children were working at the kiln. “Fortunately, no one was injured. Everyone survived. I was present there when it happened,” he said.<br /><br />Brick kiln worker Veer Singh also described the close call, stating that his daughter, who was working below, narrowly escaped being hit.<br /><br />Crime Inspector B.K. Maurya visited the Baba Brick Kiln in Mohalla No. 8 and collected details from locals. Holding a piece of the ice, he told villagers that it appeared to be a “gift from nature.”<br /><br />Bilsi SDM Prempal Singh confirmed that information had been received about a block of ice falling near workers at the kiln located near Deen Nagar–Sheikhpur intersection.
