Tayyaba (25), also known as Taimba, a resident of Dayalpur in northeast Delhi, was allegedly shot dead by her husband, Faisal Chaudhary (34), on November 22, 2025, in a bid to hide his first marriage. Her body, bearing a gunshot wound to the head, was recovered from the forest area of Sarurpur Kalan village in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, on November 26, after Faisal confessed during police interrogation. She had been reported missing at the Dayalpur police station on November 23 after she failed to return home from work.

According to police, Faisal, a resident of Old Mustafabad, had secretly married Tayyaba in court on April 15, 2025, after meeting her at a club where he introduced himself as single. He was already married and had two children. Tayyaba later insisted that he take her to his home, causing pressure that Faisal allegedly wanted to escape without alerting his first family.

On the day of the murder, Faisal picked her up in a friend’s Hyundai i20, took her to a club where he consumed alcohol, and then shot her inside the car while driving toward Baghpat.

Delhi Police traced him through sightings with Tayyaba, and he surrendered at Karkardooma Court on November 25. He was remanded to police custody for two days, during which he confessed and led the police to the body on November 26. The Hyundai i20 used in the crime was seized. A 17-year-old boy who assisted him was also apprehended. Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been added to the case, and efforts are underway to recover the weapon.

A postmortem was conducted on November 27, after which the body was handed over to the family. Tayyaba, the youngest among her siblings, worked in a private job in Dilshad Garden. Her family learned of the marriage only after Faisal’s confession. Further investigation is underway.
