House Oversight Democrats released more than 150 photos and a series of videos documenting Jeffrey Epstein’s Virgin Islands estate, material collected in 2020 by the USVI during civil litigation. The disclosure coincided with Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyers arguing that unsealing grand-jury transcripts could jeopardize a fair retrial as she prepares a habeas petition. The DOJ cited Maxwell’s potential retrial as the reason for withholding additional Epstein-related records under FOIA exemptions.
