There could be more bad years for both barramundi and the endangered largetooth sawfish under planned levels of extraction from the aquifer that feeds the Roper River, according to NT government modelling revealed through Freedom of Information laws. The NT government has dismissed the documents as outdated and irrelevant, but an NT environment group says they show the potential for "catastrophic" impacts on the fish species and are calling for federal government intervention.
