Midnight rescue of yachtie stranded on remote island

A LifeFlight helicopter crew rescued the skipper of a yacht that beached at K’gari, Queensland, around midnight on December 5, 2025. The skipper, aged in his 50’s, was located on a nearby shore and was uninjured during the ordeal.
