Taiwan Passes Strict Penalties for Damaging Undersea Cables

Taiwan is imposing new punishments for intentionally damaging undersea cables. Offenders could face up to seven years in jail and fines of up to US$320,000. Those responsible for accidental damage could be jailed for six months.
