<br />The US has applied new sanctions meant to target persons close to Venezuela's President as well as companies in Venezuela's oil sector.<br /><br />The move occurred one day after the U.S seized on oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela..<br /><br />That action has led to a strong condemnation from Venezuela's government as Guyana completely distances itself from the seized tanker.<br /><br />Juhel Browne reports.<br />
