US officials say Pax Silica, a US-led initiative to secure AI and technology supply chains, could add new members in the first quarter of 2026. Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg made the comments after TaiwanPlus asked why Taiwan was not included as a full member of the initiative despite being the world’s leading supplier of AI chips. Taiwan was instead named a “guest contributor,” alongside the EU, Canada and the OECD.
