<br /><br />United States forces have launched a large-scale aerial offensive against ISIS terrorist group infrastructure and weapons positions in Syria.<br /><br />The action, dubbed Operation Hawkeye Strike, was initiated following the attack against U.S. and partner forces that occurred on December 13.<br /><br />According to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the operation began at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on December 19, under direct orders from the Commander in Chief. The strikes hit more than 70 targets across multiple locations in central Syria.<br /><br />The offensive employed fighter jets, attack helicopters, and artillery, as well as the release of more than 100 precision-guided munitions against known ISIS facilities, including weapons depots and logistical structures.
