In the days that followed, Albanese was criticised by Jewish leaders and opposition figures, who argue that more could and should have been done to prevent the violence.<br /><br />After being booed at a vigil marking one week since the attack, the prime minister publicly apologised to the Jewish community and acknowledged the anger directed toward him.
