The Northern Territory has become just the second jurisdiction in Australia to ban public access to puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormones for children. The medicines are often used by transgender youth to treat gender dysphoria by postponing the physical impacts of puberty. While some are celebrating the decision, health practitioners and queer advocacy groups say it will have harmful implications.
