Yuuken “Yuu” Enma is an ordinary Japanese high school student preparing for an upcoming kendo tournament. However, on the night before the competition, a black horse-drawn carriage hits him. When he regains consciousness, Yuu finds himself at Night Raven College—a premier academic school in the magical world of Twisted Wonderland. Only a select few with exceptional magical talent are accepted into this school, so it's a mystery how a human with no magical abilities ended up here. <br /><br />Although Yuu longs to return home, that's easier said than done. While the principal searches for a way to return him, Yuu is assigned to do manual labor around campus. However, due to the chaos at the entrance ceremony following his arrival, Yuu becomes a target for the Riddle Rosehearts, the leaders of the Heartslabyul dormitory. <br /><br />Yuu meets and befriends Heartslabyul freshmen Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade; but soon after, Ace and Deuce become involved in a situation that results in their expulsion from the school. As the pair seek to atone for their mistakes, Yuu joins their dangerous mission to repair school property.
