Will Zang, Founder of Blade Vista Public Relations and an expert in Asian and international cinema, spoke to CGTN Europe about what he described as a structurally transformative year for the global box office.<br />He noted that much of the growth is now coming from overseas markets, particularly Asia and China. Animation has emerged as a consistently strong genre, with the top three films all belonging to this category.<br />Zang also highlighted how China’s film industry is developing a more holistic approach to intellectual property, turning films into multi-faceted entertainment experiences. At the same time, audiences are becoming more selective and mature, driven by greater access to diverse content.<br />Looking ahead to 2026, he expects releases from legendary filmmakers as well as sequels to popular franchises to shape the global film landscape.
