FREEDIVER BLACKOUTS DURING A DIVING COMPETITION <br />WITH VID<br />BY SALONI MATHUR<br />Watch this shocking video as a diver loses consciousness during a freediving competition.<br />Cassandra Cooper, an experienced, professional freediver from Canada, had taken part in a sanctioned Double K IDA Freediving Competition in Mactan, Cebu, Philippines.<br />Before the dive, she had trained at Camotes Freediving Centre in the Philippines.<br />During the dive, due to a brief loss of motor control, she blacked out underwater and was immediately assisted by safety divers around her.<br />Cassandra said: “I was recovered immediately by the safety team and suffered no injury.<br />“I shared this video for educational and awareness purposes. <br />“And I also shared it because, in freediving, like any sport, sometimes we find our limits.<br />“That's why the best place to perform at a high level is in a competition, where the strongest safety protocols are in place.”<br />“I also want to tell people that they should not attempt something like this without proper training, supervision, and safety procedures”<br />END
