ZEBRA TURNS FARM SHOP INTO HIS OWN PERSONAL PLAYGROUND
WITH PIX AND VID
By Shuk Yee Tsang
A zebra has been filmed casually wandering into a farm shop and garage space, behaving more like a curious customer than a wild animal.
The footage was shared by Luke Cornell, owner of Cornellskop, a wildlife farm in the Van der Stel Pass Valley near Botrivier, South Africa, where the unusual
encounter took place.
In the video, the zebra can be seen walking into the shop area, investigating bins, scratching against parked vehicles and inspecting a car from all angles.
In one clip, the zebra continues eating while a chicken perches comfortably on its back, adding to the surreal farmyard scene.
The zebra, named Colombia, is well known on the farm for his inquisitive personality and relaxed behaviour around his surroundings.
Cornellskop, is home to a wide range of African wildlife and operates as a conservation-focused farm where animals are cared for under strict veterinary and
permit guidelines.
Luke, who has worked with animals for over 35 years, says moments like these reflect daily life on the farm, where animals are allowed to express natural
behaviours in a safe, enriched environment.
Cornellskop said: “Colombia was just being his normal farmyard animal self.
“It was raining outside, so he decided to try and feed himself indoors.
“It was very much birthday vibes on the farm that day.”
ENDS
