DHS announced Wednesday that ICE agents in Minneapolis had fatally shot a 37-year-old woman. Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin alleged in a statement that the woman had "weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them." Footage of the incident shows ICE agents attempting to open the woman's car door while she was inside. She then appears to have been attempting to leave the scene when officers opened fire on her vehicle. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says the woman "attacked" the agents and said ICE fired "defensive shots." Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said in a press conference that after seeing the footage, he believes the DHS narrative of the incident is "bullsh*t."
