Swim Narberth, has proudly enjoyed success at the annual ‘Swim Wales’ awards, recognising the team’s dedication to the community.<br />The awards recognise the Welsh aquatics community, with the ceremony taking place at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff.<br />Swim Narberth - a Registered Charity, providing Narberth and its surrounding areas with a swimming pool and facilities, that is managed by a team of experienced and passionate locals won in the ‘Swim School Award’ category; while instructors Alice Brumby-Jones and Lucy Christopher-Barnes were recognised in the ‘Aquatic Teacher Award’ category.<br />Chris Walters of Chairman of Swim Narberth CIO shared: “This is not just a win for our pool — it’s a win for the whole of Narberth.<br />“To see Swim Narberth recognised on a national stage, and to bring two Swim Wales Annual Awards home to Pembrokeshire, is something I am incredibly proud of, not just as Chairman, but as someone who has been part of this journey during some of the most challenging years the pool has ever faced.<br />“A huge and heartfelt congratulations to Alice Brumby-Jones and Lucy Christopher-Barnes on their individual awards. Both are so richly deserved. <br />“Their passion, professionalism, and care shine through in every lesson they deliver. They don’t just teach swimming — they build confidence, life skills, and a lifelong love of the water.”<br />Eleven years ago, Narberth’s swimming pool faced the very real threat of closure; but thanks to the unwavering support of the community, pool users, and everyone who believed in what the facility meant to the town, Swim Narberth is now thriving.<br />“This award is dedicated to Sue Rees, who was the driving force behind saving our pool in the first place,” continued Chris.<br />“Without Sue’s passion, determination and tireless efforts all those years ago, this journey simply would not have been possible.<br />“Sue fought many battles with Pembrokeshire County Council — and to her credit, she won every single one!”<br /><br />©Swim Narberth<br />
