The move forms part of a government drive to tackle what it describes as a "patchy" system of cancer care, where access to diagnosis and treatment can vary widely depending on where patients live. Health Secretary Wes Streeting said: "For too long your chances of seeing a doctor and catching cancer early have depended on where you live."
