Tenby RNLI race to rescue cliff-chased sheep from drowing in rough sea

Tenby RNLI’s lifeboat crew have been praised for racing to the rescue of a sheep that had been chased off a clifftop into the rough sea by a loose dog.<br />The incident occurred on the morning of Friday, January 30, off the cliffs by Penally.<br />The crew of Tenby’s inshore lifeboat jumped into action, to get to the ewe in time to save it from drowning in the choppy waters.<br />Local farmer Will Evans shared his experience of the ordeal on Facebook, thanking the RNLI crew for their quick response.<br />“What an eventful morning - flat out lambing and get a call to say a dog has chased my sheep off the cliffs in Penally,” he said.<br />“Luckily the ewe that entered the water was recused before she drowned but the dog wasn’t so lucky! <br />“Massive thank you to Tenby lifeboat crew and teams for coming to the rescue! When will people learn to keep their dogs on a lead around livestock!”<br />Others commenting, also praised the RNLI crew for their response, with one remarking: “She looks a good swimmer - the ewe! Thank goodness for the lifeboat crew.”<br />Another person made the longstanding point about dogs being kept on leads on land where livestock grazing, stating: “The water looks so rough too.
