<br /><br />An Airbus A330-343 operated by Philippine Airlines had its takeoff aborted at Manila airport after an engine failure captured on video by an aviation enthusiast.<br /><br />The aircraft, registered RP-C8781, was scheduled to operate flight PAL684 to Doha on January 28. During the initial takeoff roll, a failure occurred on engine No. 2, a Rolls-Royce Trent 700, characterized as an engine stall.<br /><br />Following the event, the crew carried out standard safety procedures and aborted the takeoff, returning to the terminal. No injuries were reported. The flight was eventually completed about four hours later using another aircraft.<br /><br />Footage of the incident circulated on social media, showing the moment of the failure while the aircraft was still on the runway.
