Coventry admits 'sadness' over Epstein files, ICE distractions ahead of Olympics

"I think that anything that is distracting from these Games is sad," admits International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry, responding to questions about Los Angeles 2028 chief Casey Wasserman and the presence of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) at the Milan-Cortina Games. LA Olympics chief Casey Wasserman apologized after decades-old flirty emails between him and Jeffrey Epstein's jailed former girlfriend appeared in a fresh cache of files related to the investigation into the late convicted sex offender. "What is keeping my faith alive is that when that opening ceremony happens, and those athletes start competing, suddenly the world remembers the magic and the spirit that the Games have," says Coventry at a press conference days before the start of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

IOC / AFP

Check out our Streaming Channel: https://streaming.manilatimes.net/

Subscribe to The Manila Times Channel - https://tmt.ph/YTSubscribe

Visit our website at [https://www.manilatimes.net](https://www.manilatimes.net/)

Follow us:
Facebook - https://tmt.ph/facebook
Instagram - https://tmt.ph/instagram
Twitter - https://tmt.ph/twitter
DailyMotion - https://tmt.ph/dailymotion

Subscribe to our Digital Edition - https://tmt.ph/digital

Check out our Podcasts:
Spotify - https://tmt.ph/spotify
Apple Podcasts - https://tmt.ph/applepodcasts
Amazon Music - https://tmt.ph/amazonmusic
Deezer: https://tmt.ph/deezer
Tune In: https://tmt.ph/tunein

#TheManilaTimes
#WorldNews
