EXPLORERS STUMBLE UPON ABANDONED CASINO HOTEL WITH ROLLS-ROYCE FLEET 'WORTH MILLIONS'
WITH PIX AND VID
By Shuk Yee Tsang
An urban explorer has uncovered a long-abandoned five-star casino hotel filled with decaying luxury cars 'worth millions'.
Bob Thissen, 40, from the Netherlands, filmed the discovery inside the deserted Greek-style casino hotel in Macau.
The once-grand hotel was shut down in 2016 and has remained untouched for nearly a decade.
Inside, a towering Zeus statue still stands in the vast entrance hall, while the huge casino floor stretches endlessly through the dark.
Bob and his exploration partner, Andrea spent three days inside the enormous complex and still didn’t see it all.
Some of the hotel rooms appeared frozen in time. Others were badly damaged by mould and decay.
In the former parking lot, they made an unexpected discovery, a collection of abandoned luxury vehicles, including three Rolls-Royce Phantoms, an extended Hummer, extended Dodge Chargers, Porsches and Audis.
Bob estimates the cars alone were once worth millions.
He first read about the hotel’s closure in a news article and decided it was worth exploring.
Bob said: “The casino part was so big we got completely lost in there. After 3 days of exploring this place, we still did not see everything, there was so much to uncover.
"For the hotel rooms. Some were in a good shape, while other rooms where completely rotten and mouldy.
“A few million dollars. For 1 Rolls Royce Phantom is worth about half a million dollar.
“It’s really hard to guess, but the total value of these assets are really high.
"It’s an enormous building where everything is left behind. It’s also in the centre of Macau, where the price of ground will be very high per m2.
“We had a lot of expectations, but in reality it was much better than we expected.
"The cars were also a bonus, since we did not know they would be parked there.”
ENDS
