A lantern parade took place on the Stackpole Estate in Pembrokeshire to celebrate ‘Gwyl Fair y Canhwyllau’ - a traditional Welsh festival that marks the coming of spring.<br />Hosted by National Trust Cymru, over 100 people joined in the evening procession on Saturday, January 31, that followed a trail of large, brightly lit lanterns along the edges of the Stackpole Lakes. <br />Crafted by Sand Palace Arts, the striking sculptures reflected Stackpole’s resident wildlife including a kingfisher, an otter, a heron, a dragonfly and a floating white swan.<br />Attendees carried smaller owl-shaped lanterns made in craft workshops beforehand. <br />The parade is part of a wider programme of cultural and creative events and activities held by National Trust Cymru to celebrate Welsh culture.<br /><br />IMAGES: ©National Trust/Images Paul Harris<br />
