Ex-Tropical Cyclone Mitchell expected to batter the Gascoyne region as it moves inland

Tropical Cyclone Mitchell crossed the coast at about 1 am. The system, which was downgraded to a category 1 strength yesterday, was travelling with gusts of up to 107 kilometres per hour.
