This is India’s first musical road unveiled on Mumbai’s Coastal Road.<br /><br />Located on the northbound stretch from Nariman Point to Worli.<br /><br />The 500-metre lane near the divider plays a tune as cars pass.<br /><br />Commuters who drive at 70–80 kmph can clearly hear “Jai Ho” music.<br /><br />This music was created using precisely cut rumble strips.<br /><br />The concept of a musical road is believed to have first started in Denmark in 1995.<br /><br />However, the idea gained wider global attention after Japan introduced multiple “melody roads” in 2007, which played recognisable tunes when driven over at specific speeds.
