Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): A 45-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death with an iron rod in Madauka village under the Naini area on February 12, 2026, following a dispute with wedding guests.<br /><br />The Incident:<br />The deceased, Rajesh Nishad, reportedly objected to members of a wedding procession urinating near his house. The altercation escalated into violence, during which he was allegedly attacked with an iron rod.<br /><br />He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.<br /><br />Key Accused:<br />The main accused in the case is Sunil Kanojia, a constable of the Uttar Pradesh Police, currently posted in Mau district. Kanojia was reportedly attending his cousin’s wedding at a nearby guest house when the confrontation occurred.<br /><br />According to reports, the dispute began either after Nishad objected to guests urinating near his home or when he refused to allow them to relieve themselves on an adjacent empty plot.<br /><br />Police Action:<br />Police have registered a case against 12 named individuals in connection with the assault.<br /><br />As of February 14, six people, including Sunil Kanojia, have been arrested.
