A forest department team was allegedly attacked by members of the mining mafia while attempting to stop illegal mining in the Ransali Range of Sitarganj in Udham Singh Nagar district, Uttarakhand.<br /><br />The incident occurred near the Kailash River area, where a forest patrol team spotted three tractor-trailers being loaded with illegally mined minerals. When officials sought documents from those present at the site, the accused allegedly turned violent.<br /><br />According to reports, three personnel, including Forest Inspector Nand Kishore Pandey, were assaulted. It is also alleged that the attackers attempted to run over a forest officer with a tractor during the confrontation.<br /><br />Based on a complaint filed by the forest ranger, police have registered a case against three accused, including a father-son duo, and launched an investigation.<br /><br />The incident has drawn attention as it took place in Udham Singh Nagar, the home district of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
