On WWF RAW is WAR on July 6, 1998, members of D-Generation X performed a parody segment mocking their rivals, The Nation of Domination, during the height of their Attitude Era feud. DX came to the ring dressed as exaggerated versions of Nation members: Triple H impersonated The Rock, copying his catchphrases and mannerisms; X-Pac mocked Mark Henry (“Sexual Chocolate”) with an oversized costume; Road Dogg parodied D’Lo Brown, including his trademark head wobble; and Billy Gunn spoofed Kama Mustafa (later known as The Godfather) with chains and jewelry. The skit was meant to ridicule the Nation’s personalities and leadership, especially The Rock, who had recently taken over the group. The segment became one of the most talked-about moments of the Attitude Era—both memorable and controversial—because of its exaggerated portrayals and the intensity of the DX vs. Nation rivalry that dominated WWF programming in mid-1998.
