Former footballer Joey Barton has been remanded in custody after an alleged assault at Huyton and Prescot Golf Club. The victim, Kevin Lynch, suffered serious injuries, and co-defendant Gary O’Grady received conditional bail. Barton and O’Grady deny the allegations and are due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
