Leatherback Turtle Dies After Surgery Removing Ingested Fishing Net

An injured 280-kg leatherback turtle found in an anchored fishing net off the coast of Taiwan’s northeast has died following surgery to remove ingested netting. Leatherbacks are listed as endangered in Taiwan.
