Health Secretary Wes Streeting told broadcasters the meningitis outbreak was “unprecedented in terms of the pace and extent of the outbreak that we’ve seen”.He said it was a “fast-moving situation” but the “good news is antibiotics are extremely effective in 90% of cases”.
