A college student was critically injured after being attacked with a koyta (machete) in broad daylight in Pune’s Wagholi area following a minor dispute.<br /><br />The incident occurred around 3:30 PM on March 12 near the Akhand Amruttulya tea stall outside the Raisoni College gate. The entire attack was captured on CCTV cameras.<br /><br />Sudden Escalation<br /><br />The घायल student, identified as Nagesh Sunil Jagtap, had stopped at the tea stall with friends when the accused, Mangesh Sangale and Pawan Rathod, reached the spot. They allegedly confronted him over abusive remarks, leading to a heated argument.<br /><br />The situation quickly turned violent, with the accused attacking Jagtap using a koyta. One of the blows was so severe that the weapon got lodged in his head, leaving him critically injured.<br /><br />Emergency Treatment<br /><br />The brutal attack triggered panic in the area. Jagtap was rushed to a nearby hospital by friends and locals, where doctors performed emergency surgery to remove the weapon. He survived the procedure and is currently undergoing treatment.<br /><br />Accused Arrested<br /><br />Police registered a case and, using CCTV footage and local inputs, traced and arrested both accused.
