A tragic drone strike has struck the border town of Tiné in Chad, killing at least 17 civilians and injuring several more, all while attending a funeral ceremony.<br />Chad’s President Idriss Mahamat Déby has reacted with urgency, ordering the military on high alert and warning of immediate retaliation against Sudan if such attacks continue. The border has now been completely closed.<br />Eyewitnesses say the victims were mourners gathered to pray and recite the Quran, making this attack even more shocking. The nation mourns, while government officials call it a blatant act of aggression.<br />Suspicions point to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) from Sudan’s Darfur region, but the group denies involvement, blaming the Sudanese army. With Sudan in a civil war since April 2023, hundreds of thousands have already died, and over 13 million people displaced, including nearly 1 million refugees in Chad.
