President Donald Trump said Thursday he’s “not putting troops anywhere” as reports surfaced that the administration is considering deploying thousands of troops to the Middle East.<br /><br />Asked about the possibility of U.S. ground troops being deployed to Iran during an Oval Office meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Trump insisted, “No. I'm not putting troops anywhere.”<br /><br />He then said he could deploy military forces wherever he wanted, but said he’d not tell reporters about his plans.
