Check out our blog at: http://oldclassicvideogames.blogspot.com This is Oldclassicvideogames.com looking back at an old game for the original nintendo called High Speed. High speed is a pinball game with its own unique approach. As the player, you are apparently driving a car at high speeds. For example, when you hit the ball into the space with what appears to be a street light, the light will change from green, to yellow, to red. Hit the ball through again when it is Red and you will have run a red light, activating the multiball sequence. There are also hazards that appear on the table that interfere with your ball, such as water. You can destroy this hazards by hitting the ball through them at high speeds. The cool thing about this game, however, is that you will collect objects that appear on the table. One is a box, the other is a helecopter. Collect three of either of these to activate the mini-game that corresponds to it. When you collect three boxes, a safe will appear in the middle of the board, and you must hit your ball into the safe to be taken to the mini game, where you must shoot white balls in such a way that they land in the given slots. You are granted points for the remaining ammo. When you collect three helecopters, a helecopter will fly in and you can hit your ball onto it's ladder, then you will be taken to the racing mini game. Here you must hit the cars with your pinball. If you hit the enemy cars, you will slow them down. If you hit your car, you will give it a speed boost. This game is really cool for a NES game, and has some catchy music that will plant this game firmly in your memory.
