Peck-Smyth & Off – Love 1976 (Mexico, Psychedelic-Progressive Rock)

A Mexican band with a single album from 1976. All lyrics are in English.A hauntingly beautiful album by a mysterious band.

The album, for as little as we may know about the band, can speak for itself. From the opening track a very grandiose mood and aura fill the listener's ears. The music is very much in the art-rock/neo-classical/symphonic prog area. The orchestral arrangements are absolutely astonishing, the instrumentation, superb. The lead singer, who either sings in a very Fish meets Peter Gabriel way (maybe not at their level, but somewhere along those lines) or like David Thomas of Pere Ubu with an accent (on the faster numbers)* really has a way of pulling those strings that control our lives, those which we commonly know as our emotions.
Truly a fantastic album!

It is truly a shame that we don't know more about this album, and that it hasn't been properly (if ever!) reissued.

Definitely recommended.

*This could be another singer. I really have no way of knowing.sonicbeat89 Jun 09 2011

Tracks:

01. Love — 0:00

02. Masacre — 2:57

03. Magical…? — 8:19

04.
