The unseasonal rains and hailstorms that have lashed Andhra Pradesh over the past few days have dealt a devastating blow to the farming community. Preliminary estimates indicate that agricultural and horticultural crops across more than 11,000 hectares in nearly 12 districts across the state have been damaged.
