A commotion broke out during the convocation ceremony at Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication in Jaipur after students expressed strong displeasure over the conduct of the programme held at Rajasthan International Centre.

The ceremony initially concluded with degrees being awarded on stage to only 12 gold medallists, triggering anger among other students. As the event progressed, several students raised slogans against the university administration, alleging unequal treatment and lack of opportunity for all graduates. Protests were also directed at Vice-Chancellor Nandkishore Pandey.

In a dramatic moment, a student, upon receiving her degree from Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa, remarked, “Thank you very much for honouring me by insulting me,” leaving the audience stunned.

Following the outburst, Bairwa intervened and personally distributed degrees to the remaining students in an attempt to defuse tensions. Reports suggest the student’s reaction stemmed from dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of the ceremony.

The incident briefly disrupted proceedings before organisers brought the situation under control and continued the event. The university administration has not issued an official statement so far.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions, with some calling the student’s act courageous while others deeming it inappropriate. The episode has since become a subject of widespread debate.

#Jaipur #ConvocationChaos #StudentProtest #BreakingNews #ViralVideo #Rajasthan #CampusNews #EducationCrisis #IndiaNews #Controversy
