SNOW MONKEYS SOAK IN HOT SPRINGS AS SNOW FALLS AROUND THEM<br />WITH PIX AND VID <br />By Shuk Yee Tsang<br />Stunning images and footage show snow monkeys relaxing in steaming hot springs as snow falls around them<br />Wildlife photographer and guide Sean Weekly, 36, from Portishead, North Somerset, captured the scenes in Jigokudani Monkey Park, also known as “Hell’s Valley" in Japan. <br />The visuals show the monkeys calmly bathing in the geothermal waters, seemingly unfazed by the freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall around them. <br />In one moment, a playful youngster can be seen leaping over its mother, adding a lively contrast to the otherwise peaceful setting.<br />The unique combination of steaming water, thick snow and expressive wildlife has made the species one of the most photogenic in the world, drawing photographers from across the globe.<br />Sean said: “I was trying to film and document the interaction and behaviour of the snow monkeys, especially showing how relaxed they are whilst bathing in the springs.<br />“I also wanted to try and portray the harsh environments and weather conditions that these monkeys have to endure during the winter.<br />“However, there is not always heavy snowfall, so it’s always a special moment photographing in the snow."<br />END
