CAMPUS ATTACK SHOCKS PEKANBARU<br /><br />📍 Pekanbaru, Riau<br />📅 February 26, 2026<br /><br />A violent incident disrupted a thesis defense session at Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau on Wednesday morning.<br /><br />A 23-year-old female student was attacked moments before presenting her thesis inside a campus courtroom. The suspect, a 21-year-old male student who was reportedly known to the victim, suddenly approached and assaulted her in front of other students.<br /><br />• The attack happened at approximately 8:30 AM local time.<br />• The victim suffered injuries to her head and arm.<br />• Fellow students and campus security quickly intervened and secured the suspect at the scene.<br /><br />The victim was immediately transported to RS Bhayangkara Pekanbaru for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.<br /><br />Authorities from Polda Riau confirmed the suspect has been detained. Preliminary findings suggest the motive may be related to personal conflict.
