A domestic dispute in Hassan district has taken a dramatic turn after a married woman allegedly left her husband and child to elope with her lover, triggering a controversy marked by conflicting claims from both sides.

The woman, identified as Harshita, had been married to Prakash for eight years. According to reports, she left home overnight on April 10 and later appeared in a viral video, where her alleged lover is seen tying a mangalsutra around her neck inside a car.

The situation escalated when Harshita reportedly contacted her husband expressing regret and requested to return home. However, Prakash refused to accept her back.

Speaking to the media, Prakash alleged that Harshita had drugged him with sleeping pills before fleeing with gold jewellery and cash. He further claimed that she had earlier returned home after police intervention but left again. He also accused her of abandoning their daughter and demanded strict legal action.

However, Harshita has strongly denied these allegations. In a video statement from an undisclosed location, she claimed she left the house voluntarily due to prolonged mental and physical harassment. She alleged that she was being restricted and denied basic freedoms, and had previously sought help while also expressing her desire for a divorce.

She further stated that she is willing to legally end the marriage and take responsibility for raising her child independently. She also denied any claims of abduction or coercion.

Police under the Gerooru station limits have not yet issued a detailed official statement. The matter remains under investigation as authorities examine the conflicting versions presented by both parties.

#Karnataka #Hassan #DomesticDispute #ViralVideo #RelationshipCrisis #IndiaNews
