Matthew Fisher — Journey's End 1973 (UK, Progressive-Pop Rock)

Matthew Charles Fisher, born March 7, 1946, in Addiscombe, Croydon, is an English organist, singer, and songwriter whose organ sound is remembered by everyone on Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale." He began playing in bands as a teenager, initially on bass guitar, but in 1964, after hearing The Animals and Georgie Fame, he chose the organ. After dropping out of the Guildhall School of Music, he toured with The Gamblers, Billy Fury's backing band. After The Gamblers, Matthew played with various local bands before joining Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers in 1966. Fisher joined Procol Harum in early 1967, although he continued to tour with Screaming Lord Sutch for a while. After leaving the group in 1969, Matthew released four solo albums and produced for Robin Trower, James Dewar, and the duo Tír na nÓg. He was back in Procol Harum from 1991 to 2003.

Tracks:

01. Suzanne - 0:00

02. Going For A Song - 2:59

03. Play The Game - 7:20

04.
