The Lemon Dips – Who's Gonna Buy? 1969 (UK, Garage-Psychedelic Rock)

Released on the small label "Music De Wolfe" as a "library" record, this album was produced in tiny quantities for use in films, radio, or television shows, typically serving as background music or soundtracks. Unlike classic soundtracks, however, "library" albums were never intended for public sale, resulting in very limited circulation. Recorded by an anonymous studio group, the album, with a title literally translating as "Who's Gonna Buy?", is musically no less a mystery and a major curiosity. The album is divided into a side featuring six vocal performances and a side with seven instrumental backing tracks. Five of the seven instrumentals on side two were apparently the same songs as on side one, but without the vocals. J. Hawksworth and P. Reno are believed to have been the main players (at least, they are credited as such on all 13 tracks), and the album contains a remarkable array of garage rock and psychedelic moments. "Who's Gonna Buy," "I Am Your Man," and "Unpack Your Bags" were later featured in the thrill-seeking teen film "Haunted House of Horror."

Tracks:
01. I Am The Man — 2:52
02.
