<p>Global military spending has reached a record-breaking $2.887 trillion in 2025, marking the 11th consecutive year of growth, according to the latest SIPRI report.</p><p>India has emerged as the 5th largest military spender, increasing its defence budget by 8.9% to $92.1 billion. The surge comes amid rising geopolitical tensions, especially the India-Pakistan conflict in May 2025, which involved combat aircraft, drones, and missile strikes during Operation Sindoor.</p><p>Meanwhile, Pakistan’s military spending jumped 11% to $11.9 billion, driven by defence deals with China.</p><p>The top 5 spenders — US, China, Russia, Germany, and India — account for 58% of global military expenditure, totaling $1.686 trillion.</p><p>While US spending dropped 7.5%, Europe saw a 14% surge, and Asia-Oceania recorded an 8.1% rise, signaling a global arms race fueled by wars, uncertainty, and rising security threats.<br> </p>
