PUFFIN SPOTTED CLUTCHING NESTING MATERIAL AS IT HURRIES TO JOIN CLIFFSIDE COLONY <br />WITH PIX AND VID<br />By Shuk Yee Tsang<br />A charming moment captures a determined puffin clutching a twig in its beak as it hurries down the stairs, across the cliffs to rejoin its colony in Iceland.<br />The footage was filmed by Agnieszka Stefania, shot at Hafnarhólmi, one of the Iceland's best-known puffin-watching spots.<br />With its bright beak and determined stride, the tiny seabird appears to be on a mission to “move in” with its neighbours.<br />Beyond the humour and charm, the moment highlights a key stage in puffin behaviour, as the birds return to the same nesting sites each year to rebuild burrows and prepare for raising chicks.<br />Agnieszka said: “Just now at Hafnarhólmi, Borgarfjörður Eystri this one already had a branch in its beak, ready to move in.<br />“Many people wait until summer to see puffins, but they are already back, preparing their burrows.<br />“There’s nothing quite like the fiery glow of an Icelandic sunset, with puffins perched on the cliffs.<br />Endearing comments flood in from viewers: <br />One viewer said: “Puffin has a plan."<br />The second viewer said: "You're doing great spreading awareness about visiting puffins in the off-season, keep sharing your amazing content” <br />A third said, “ Puffins are the most beautiful birds.” <br />END
