DW head praises Jimmy Lai's commitment to press freedom

DW has awarded the Freedom of Speech Award 2026 to Hong Kong media entrepreneur Jimmy Lai. DW Director General Barbara Massing said Lai has stood "unwaveringly" for press freedom in Hong Kong "at great personal risk."
