The Food Safety and Inspection Service of the USDA has identified a cluster of Listeria monocytogenes in Illinois, associated with Daisy Brand Meat Products Headcheese. Three cases of infection have been confirmed, with Listeria detected in an unopened sample of the product. The recalled products consist of Daisy Brand Headcheese and Headcheese HOT that have a use-by date of March 26, 2026. Listeria poses a fatal risk in one out of five severe instances, with pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems being particularly vulnerable. Consumers are advised to dispose of the product and thoroughly clean all surfaces immediately.
