Three Chilling Winter Encounters
Story 1: The Man at the Back Door (Age 17, Home Alone)
A 17-year-old, home alone during a snowstorm, hears footsteps approaching the front door. The person coughs and walks up to the porch—but never knocks. After several minutes of silence, the teen looks outside. No one is there, but footprints lead to the door and then back away. Later that night, around 11 p.m., a loud thump comes from the side of the house. The power cuts out. When the teen investigates the back door, a man is standing there in the dark, pressing his face against the glass. He politely asks to be let in, saying it's freezing. The teen hesitates, sensing something wrong. The man's demeanor instantly shifts to rage. He screams, "Open the [expletive] door!" and pounds on it. The teen runs to call 911, struggling with poor phone service. The police arrive 30 minutes later, but the man is gone. The teen never sees him again.
Story 2: The Stranded Car and Four Men (Driving Home)
While driving home alone through heavy snow, a young man encounters a car sideways on the road with hazard lights flashing. A man is standing outside next to it. The driver stops because the car is blocking the road. The man claims his car is stuck and asks for help pushing it out. Suspecting nothing yet, the driver agrees. He gets out into the freezing wind and goes to the back of the man's car to push. While waiting, he notices the man leaning into the front seat, appearing to talk to someone. When the driver asks if he was talking to him, the man says he was just talking to himself—but something feels off. Suddenly, three more men rush out of the car and charge toward him. The driver sprints back to his car, floors it, barely squeezes past the blocked road, and escapes. He files a police report but never receives any update.
Story 3: The Intruder on the Roof (First Winter in a New House)
It is late November, the first snowfall of the season. A person is sitting at his desk upstairs when he hears thuds moving across the ceiling above him. Worried about roof damage, he goes outside to look. Unusually, all the snow has slid off only one side of his roof—the side directly above his bedroom—while neighbors' roofs still have snow. He goes back inside. To his horror, there are now puddles of water across the hallway, living room, and stairs. He spots a bootprint in one of the puddles. Realizing someone has broken in, he runs back outside and calls the police. While waiting, he sees a figure move past his bedroom window and then stand behind the glass, looking down at him before disappearing. Police arrive but find no intruder. They confirm that trees near the house made the roof accessible, and unlocked windows were an easy entry point. Nothing was stolen. The tracks went through the entire house, suggesting the intruder was looking for the resident. The resident realizes that he must have gone outside to check the roof at the exact moment the intruder climbed in through a windo
