Why do some fears feel so huge…<br />when they are actually very rare?<br />It’s the availability bias.<br />Your brain judges something as frequent<br />if it easily comes to mind.<br />A crash on the news, a shocking story, a viral video…<br />and suddenly it feels like it’s happening everywhere.<br />Behind this, there’s often the amygdala.<br />The part of the brain that detects danger<br />and tries to protect you.<br />The stronger the emotion, the more the amygdala stamps the memory.<br />And the more your brain brings it back quickly afterwards.<br />Result:<br />what impacts you emotionally feels more frequent… and therefore more dangerous.<br />Your brain doesn’t always measure reality — it mostly measures what impacted it the most.<br />And hypnosis can help with that!<br />Have you ever been caught by the availability bias too?<br />Tell me in the comments 👇
