New measures to protect student-athletes<br /><br />The death of Ateneo de Manila men's basketball players Rene Bartebonia and Divine Adili would not go in vain. Facing the media on Wednesday at the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Media Hall in Manila, the joint panel of the PSC, the Commission on Higher Education, the Department of Education, the National Youth Commission, and the University Athletic Association of the Philippines vowed to create new measures to further improve the safety of student-athletes. This, in an effort to prevent the drowning of Bartebonia and Adili in a reported team-building activity in Aurora from happening again.
